Membership

The Colusa Circle Merchants Association (CCMA) is a 510(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to sustainably promoting local businesses and building community through sponsoring annual events, organizing public outreach, and serving as a resource to residents and business owners within the Colusa Circle neighborhood.

Benefits

All membership levels within the CCMA will include a feature on the CCMA website in the business directory section, a feature in a community business newsletter (format and frequency TBD based on budget + interest), events promotion on CCMA calendar, regular social media promotional posts, and sponsorship opportunities/listings in CCMA specific events.
 

Pricing

CCMA membership is open to any current business operator or employee of the Colusa Circle area that supports CCMA’s mission.

  • Sustaining membership - $300 annual dues. Establishes membership for merchants (with employees and/or storefronts), institutions, including partnerships, associations, corporations, educational and other not-for-profit corporations. 

  • Business membership - $200 annual dues. Establishes membership for commercial building owners/landlords or other business owners as desired.

  • Individual membership - $100 annual dues. Establishes membership status for individuals, and their divisions and departments who operate their business in or in close proximity to the Colusa Circle Business district.

*All memberships valid for one calendar year January 1- December 31.

SPONSORSHIPS

The CCMA holds two yearly community events, the Halloween Harvest Festival in October (October 25th, 2020) and the Colusa Circle Tree Lighting in November (November 29, 2020). These events are free to the public, however, this means they must be funded by members. In order to keep dues low enough for all Colusa Circle businesses to participate, we must solicit event sponsorships to cover our event costs. Below are the sponsorship levels for this year’s Tree Lighting Event. 

Social Media Sponsor $100 [Level 1] - Sponsorship of funds to help offset expenses associated with the Tree Lighting event

  • Business name and account tag mention on all CCMA social media event posts (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter). 

Print Sponsor $250  [Level 2] - Sponsorship of funds to help offset expenses associated with the Tree Lighting event

  • Recognition on the event postcards (qty: 750) + event posters (qty: 30)
  • Business name and account tag mention on all CCMA social media event posts (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter).

Music Sponsor $350 [Level 3] - Sponsorship of funds to help cover the cost of event entertainment    

  • Recognition as band sponsor on a sign in front of the band at the event
  • Recognition on the event postcards (qty: 750) + event posters (qty: 30)
  • Business name and account tag mention on all CCMA social media event posts (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter). 

Lights Sponsor $500 [Level 4] - Sponsorship of funds to help to offset the cost of light rental and installation 

  • Recognition at Lighting Ceremony
  • Recognition in Kensington Outlook and Berkeley Hills event ad (if funding allows)
  • Recognition on the event postcards (qty: 750) + event posters (qty: 30)
  • Business name and account tag mention on all CCMA social media event posts (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter). 

*Sponsorship payment will not be collected until October.  
 

Committees

As a non profit organization, the CCMA is entirely volunteer-run. This means that in addition to your membership, we welcome (and need) your help! Please consider getting involved with one of the committees below:

  • Events Committee: Led by the First Vice President. Members of this committee help support the First Vice President in logistical planning of yearly Colusa Circle events, including but not limited to the Halloween Harvest Celebration and Holiday Tree lighting, as well as additional events as planned.

  • Marketing + Communications Committee: Led by the Second Vice President. Members of this committee help support the Second Vice President in executing marketing, communications and promotion of yearly events and other miscellaneous CCMA projects.

  • Membership Committee: Led by the President. Members of this committee help support the President in member recruiting and retention and member specific/internal meetings and events.

  • Community Outreach Committee: Led by the Secretary and Second Vice President. Members of this committee help support the Second Vice President and Secretary in local community outreach with Colusa Circle neighbors and friends as needed.

  • Fundraising Committee: Led by the Treasurer and President. Members of this committee help support the Treasurer and President in fundraising efforts for Colusa Circle community improvement projects and other initiatives as voted on by the board and membership.

Member Meetings

The CCMA Board of Directors meets quarterly and all members are invited to attend. The 2020 meeting dates are as follows:

Q1: January 30th 11-1pm

Q2: April 30th 1-3pm *To be conducted remotely or rescheduled once the current California Shelter-In-Place mandates are lifted.* 

Q3: August 27th 11-1pm 

Q4: December 10th 1-3pm
